Ex-Azerbaijani Ambassador to Turkey Zakir Hashimov bid farewell to Turkish officials at a ceremony dedicated to the end of his tenure in the country.
The former ambassador also met with ex-Turkish presidents July 6, the country's deputy prime minister July 8, and President Abdullah Gul July 13.
Friendly relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan are based on the principle of "one nation, two countries," he stressed during all of his meetings.
Hashimov also expressed his gratitude to Turkey, as well as his hope that ties will further develop between the countries. He noted that he was departing Turkey with friendly feelings.
