Azerbaijan, Baku, July 28 /Trend, T.Hajiyev/

The question of accession of the opposition Union for Democracy to the Musavat-APFP union is not urgent today, chairman of Azerbaijan Classic Popular Front Party Mirmahmud Miralioghlu told Trend on July 28.

"If someone says something about the forthcoming accession of UD to this union, it is wrong. As the author of this union is UD itself, the idea of accession also belongs to UD. Just before, when we offered cooperation to Azadlyg bloc, we were told that because of differences in the intentions of the parties, represented in the bloc, to cooperate with the Musavat Party, the bloc could not join the union proposed by us. APFP also remained away from this process. APFP joined this process after the termination of political activities of the Azadlyg bloc. If someone says about the forthcoming accession of UD to this union, it is the wrong approach and historical falsification," said Miralioghlu.

Union for Democracy was founded by the opposition Classic Popular Front Party, Azadlig party and National Democracy Party after 2005 parliamentary election. Great Azerbaijan Party joined the union in early Sept. 2008 and People's Party - in Nov. The Union is advisory and cooperation body.

According to Miralioghlu, the discussions in the press are not connected with reality.
"We have implemented a number of works in the first stage, the candidates were agreed with the Musavat Party. Our plans are realized. APFP also joined the process in the next stage. Just another couple of journalists and authors of headings have violent imagination, expressing their attitude to this issue. They even speak about unification of APFP-Musavat. That's their work, but political processes are not so," said Miralioghlu.

During the event on the 21st anniversary of the PFP on July 15, the leader of Musavat Party Isa Gambar proposed to create a single party, unifying APFP and Musavat. Currently, negotiations on this proposal are continuing.

"Our policy is that UD, Musavat and the Popular Front Party would unite. We are doing everything possible. If it happens, candidates will be nominated from all 125 constituencies," said Miralioghlu.
