Azerbaijan`s President receives UNESCO director-general
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his spouse, UNESCO goodwill ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva have received today Director-General of UNESCO Irina Bokova, AzerTAj state news agency reported.
The Head of State expressed hope that Ms. Bokova`s visit would be successful.
The President praised the fact that as a Director-General of UNESCO Irina Bokova made one of her trips to Azerbaijan.
The Head of State wished the Director-General successes in her activity.
President Ilham Aliyev touched upon the joint projects carried out recently. He expressed hope that this tendency would continue.
The President also hoped that active cooperation between Azerbaijan and UNESCO would further deepen.
Ms. Bokova underlined the importance of her visit to Azerbaijan as UNESCO`s new Director-General.
She praised the cooperation between Azerbaijan and UNESCO.
Ms. Bokova also pointed out everyone in UNESCO has great respect for the Organization`s Goodwill Ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva.
She highly appreciated Ms. Mehriban Aliyeva`s contribution to development of culture, music, tradition and heritage.
President Ilham Aliyev underscored the importance of the projects carried out together with UNESCO, adding there are some important plans in this direction.
The Head of State expressed hope that UNESCO Director-General`s visit would contribute to boosting "our cooperation".
