Tatarstan's President Rustam Minnikhanov is expected to pay his first visit to Ashgabat as a president from Aug.1 to 2, 2010, an official Turkmen source reported.
He said he is planned to meet with the Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov and hold intergovernmental talks in the extended format.
In recent years, Turkmenistan has made business partnership with such enterprises as JSC "Kazan Helicopter Plant" and carmaker "KAMAZ" more active.
"Within steady expansion of mutually beneficial bilateral relations with Russia brotherly relations between Turkmenistan and the largest regions of a friendly country, particularly the Republic of Tatarstan are enriching," Berdimuhammadov said at the last governmental meeting.
He said "this is especially evident in trade, economic and humanitarian and cultural spheres, the successful interaction in which is evidence of close relations of the two brotherly peoples, bounded by historical and cultural community.
Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tatarstan cooperate based on previously concluded intergovernmental agreement on trade-economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation.
