Georgia, Tbilisi, Aug.2 / Trend, N.Kirtskhalia /
A new hearth of forest fires was registered in the Borjomi Gorge (South Georgia). The fire spreads due to the strong wind, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources told Trend.
Several hearths of fire have been localized, but the strong fire is raging on the mountain top and it's difficult for firefighters and rangers to approach there. Local residents help them in extinguishing the fire.
A small aircraft is also involved, which extinguishes the fire from the air putting out tons of water to the forest.
The forest fire continues to burn already in the third day. According to the last data, the fire destroyed over12 hectares of the forest with rare tree sorts.
Concrete reasons of the fire are not reported. It is supposed that the fire is caused by abnormal heat.
