Azerbaijan, Baku, August 6 /Trend, T.Hajiyev/

There is a need for dialogue between Azerbaijan Popular Front Party (APFP) and the Union for Democracy (UD), chairman of the council of the Musavat Party Sulhaddin Akber told Trend on August 6.

"During the discussions both with APFP and Classic Popular Front Party (CPFP), we informed both parties of how this issue is sensitive for us. But not everything depends on Musavat. Political will should be exercised to resolve the tension," said Akber.
According to him, the leading force of the UD is CPFP. Therefore, the sources of tension in the Union and APFP come precisely from CPFP.

The opposition Union for Democracy, APFP and Musavat tried to hold a mass rally on July 31 in the center of Baku. The statement made by APFP on August 4 in connection with the rally says that the rally was held on the joint initiative of APFP and Musavat. However, the statement does not mention the Union for Democracy.

According to the functionary of Musavat, this incident will not have a negative impact on the idea of uniting the opposition. "I do not support blowing the problem. I think that the interview given to the press will impede the unification of the opposition. The issues that may substantially affect the unification of the opposition are linked to the political will of leaders of these parties. If there are good intentions and political will, such problems can not have a decisive impact on the idea of unification," said Akber.

According to him, the question is the moment what parties would participate in future actions together with the Musavat Party.

"Our idea is to conduct joint actions by all three parties and other democratic forces' joining these actions. But yet it is difficult to say anything on this issue. The negotiations will show what political forces will conduct joint actions," said Akber.
