UEFA President Michel Platini is considering the possibility of holding the Europe League Finals in Tbilisi in 2012 or 2013. Tbilisi Mayor Gigi Ugulava made the announcement after meeting with Platini at the Tbilisi Courtyard Marriott this morning.

The meeting was also attended by Sports and Youth Minister Nika Vardzelashvili.

"Platini told us that some conditions are necessary to hold the finals - a good airport, good hotels and a football stadium," Ugulava said.

He added that Tbilisi meets these conditions, although additional works should also be carried out in this direction.

"Holding the Europe League Finals is important for Georgia and this is why the city's authorities are going to do their utmost to satisfy UEFA's requirements," he said.
