CEC registers 460 observes for parliamentary elections

Over 460 people willing to observe the parliamentary elections appealed to the Azerbaijani Central Election Commission (CEC). All applications were approved by the Commission, the CEC said.

Over 460 people willing to observe the parliamentary elections appealed to the Azerbaijani Central Election Commission (CEC). All applications were approved by the Commission, the CEC said.

Of all the registered observers roughly 29 have special permission, 338 - appealed on their own initiative, 40 - from the Ombudsman Office, 39 - on the initiative of political parties, 14 - on the initiative of NGOs.

The documents are received until October 28.

An observer, who registered in the Central Election Commission and determined the district to observe, must apply to the relevant election commission till Nov. 2.

Parliamentary elections are scheduled for Nov. 7. Previous legislative elections were held in November 2005. Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system in 125 electoral constituencies.
