Kazakhstan's aid to Kyrgyzstan exceeds $11 million

Kazakhstan has provided assistance exceeding $11 million to neighboring Kyrgyzstan, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry reported.

"The Kazakh Embassy in Bishkek received a letter from the Kyrgyz State Directorate for the rehabilitation and development of the cities of Osh and Jalal-Abad. The letter confirmed receipt of the full volume of construction materials supplied by Kazakhstan as a free aid to regions affected by the June riots in the south of Kyrgyzstan," the ministry said.

The country sent 3,257 cubic meters of timber wood, 900 tons of fittings and 234 tons of metal slates.

In addition to the building materials, Kazakhstan has allocated to Kyrgyzstan aid in the form of food and sanitation supplies, as well as  fuel and lubricants.
