The Azerbaijani Central Election Commission (CEC) has issued a "Memo for the election day" for members of the district election commissions (DECs) on the eve of the parliamentary elections, the CEC reported.
The commission noted that lower election commissions also were provided with the memos.
CEC Chairman Mazahir Panahov's message to members of DECs was posted in the introduction to the memo. In his message, Panahov reminds them their responsibilities and wishes success in ensuring the holding of free, transparent and fair elections.
The "Memo for the election day" reflects the role and responsibilities of members of DECs and detailed information about the actions to be carried out on the election day.
It was developed on the basis of regulations approved by the Electoral Code and the CEC. The memo was published in the framework of the educational program implemented by the CEC.
The parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are scheduled for November 7, 2010. Previous parliamentary elections were held in November 2005. Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system in 125 constituencies.
