The Azerbaijani Central Election Commission (CEC) has registered representatives of 26 countries to observe the upcoming parliamentary elections, CEC Chairman Mazahir Panahov said on Tuesday.

"About 350 international observers have passed the registration, including 304 from the CIS countries and 10 from TurkPA," Panahov said.

Given the number of local observers, two observers accounted for each polling station, which is a good indicator, he said.

Elections to the Azerbaijani parliament are scheduled for Nov. 7. According to a list submitted to the Central Election Commission, the number of voters constantly living in the country is about 5 million people.

Previous legislative elections were held in November 2005. Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system in 125 electoral constituencies.

The CEC meeting approved the emblem of the PFPA-Musavat political bloc.
