Azerbaijan, Baku, Nov. 7 / Trend V. Mammadov /

The Azerbaijani ruling party accused the observers from the opposition parties of the destructive activity in the parliamentary elections.

"The observers from opposition parties and candidates and their authorized representatives tried to destabilize the election process. They spread false information about the violations and provided international observers with false information instead of focusing on the observation of the elections, " a statement posted on the official website of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party said.

The voting process is carefully monitored by the observers of the ruling party, a statement said.

The activity of the mission of opposition parties, in particular the electoral bloc Popular Front Party- Musavat, covers a small number of polling stations.

A few observers from the opposition operate in the polling stations outside Baku. There is nobody in some of them, the report said.

The information about the violations in a number of polling stations distributed by the opposition parties from the beginning of the electoral process was not confirmed after careful study, the ruling party said.

The bloc of political parties Popular Front Party- Musavat reported about violations in a number of polling stations.

The Azerbaijani CEC reported that 690 candidates are running for the parliamentary elections.

Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system in 125 constituencies. Previous parliamentary elections were held in November 2005.
