ACSDA: Azerbaijan holds democratic and transparent parliamentary elections

Azerbaijan held a democratic and transparent parliamentary elections, the Azerbaijani Association for Civil Society Development (ACSDA) Electoral Chief of Staff Maharram Zulfugarli said.

"The recorded violations covered a small number of polling stations and they have not had a major impact on the election results. Thus, the elections were constructive. The holding of the e-voting in the country for the first time is also a positive factor. This vote has no legal force, but this is the first trial step taken in this area,"  Zulfugarli said at a news conference after the election on.Monday.

Azerbaijan held parliamentary elections on Nov. 7. The CEC reported that 690 candidates ran in the elections.

Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system in 125 constituencies. Previous parliamentary elections were held in November 2005.

The organization observed the election process in 4,400 polling stations of 106 constituencies.
