Georgia will introduce the U.S. system of emergency calls - 911, Tbilisi Mayor Gigi Ugulava told journalists today.
People will be able to connect with the police, ambulance and fire service by dialing only one phone number, he said. The work on the introduction of new technology has already been launched.
"We are working to create a single control center, which is a joint project of the Tbilisi City Hall and the Georgian Interior Ministry. It aims at integrating transport, emergency services, patrol police and public services, so that, it will be possible to dial a single number to get all these services," Ugulava said at the opening of a new police building in the Isani-Samgori District
