President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today met with President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev who is here to attend a summit of the Heads of Caspian littoral states, AzerTAj state news agency reported.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today met with President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev who is here to attend a summit of the Heads of Caspian littoral states, AzerTAj state news agency reported.

The Azerbaijani Leader said Kazakhstan-Azerbaijan bilateral relations are dynamically developing. According to him, the present meeting is a good opportunity to discuss bilateral ties and regional problems.

President Aliyev noted both fraternal nations are interacting within international organizations and in the regional format. He said regions of both countries are developing economic ties.

"Azerbaijan is keen on actively developing bilateral ties in the spirit of friendship, neighborhood, fraternity, which have always linked both peoples during development of our countries as independent states, " he said.

President Nazarbayev, in his turn, pointed out the trade turnover between the countries increased.

He found the need to intensify economic relations, and increase trade. He expressed confidence that the meeting of the Heads of Caspian nations would be successful.

He also underlined the importance of the OSCE summit, which is going to take place on December 1-2 in Astana. Nazarbayev also found the need to work out the middle ground on the overall convention on the Caspian.
