The European Union Special Representative for the South Caucasus, Ambassador Peter Semneby, will pay short visit to Baku on Nov.21 -22, the EU Baku office reported.
The visit relates to the recent release of the two youth activists Emin Milli and Adnan Hajizade. Semneby will meet with the bloggers and their families and have discussions with the representatives of diplomatic corps in Baku. He plans to return to Baku at the end of the week with the regular working visit to meet the Government and civic society representatives.
The Salyan Regional Court has today ordered to release blogger Emin Milli after serving more than half of a prison term handed to him, Lawyer Isakhan Ashurov told Trend.
The court decided to replace the half of a prison term to conditional.
The Baku Appellate Court yesterday took a similar decision with regard to another jailed blogger, Adnan Hajizade.
Hajizade and Milli were arrested on July 8, 2009 after an incident in a restaurant in Baku. Milli was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison and Hajizade to two years in prison.
