Azerbaijani opposition party's chairman supports changes in electoral bodies

Chairman of the Azerbaijani opposition Citizens and Development Party supports changes in the elected bodies of the party, chairman of the party Ali Aliyev told Trend.

He said that the first meeting of the political council after the elections will be held on Monday. The results of parliamentary elections held on November 7 will be discussed. The relevant decisions will be made.

Azerbaijan held the elections on Nov. 7.

The voter turnout hit about 50.14 percent (roughly 2.48 million voters) in Azerbaijan, the Central Election Commission's Elections Information Center told Trend.

The CEC reported that 690 candidates were running for the parliamentary elections.

Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system in 125 constituencies. Previous parliamentary elections were held in November 2005.
