Georgian President to lead ‘roundtable’ at climate conference in Mexico

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili today will lead a “roundtable” at the conference on the climate change which is underway in Mexico, the President’s spokesperson Manana Manjgaladze told reporters.

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili today will lead a "roundtable" at the conference on the climate change which is underway in Mexico, the President's spokesperson Manana Manjgaladze told reporters.

"The conference on climate change, which is underway in Mexico, involves 192 countries, including the leaders and heads of states from 20 countries. The event takes place within the UN. The President is planned to address the conference, in addition, Dec.9, Saakashvili will lead a "roundtable"," Manjgaladze said.

Cancun is hosting the Conference of Parties of the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change from Nov. 29 to Dec. 10.

Cancun will bring together about 15,000 participants. Talks are held in the first week of the conference within working groups, and high-level meetings will begin on Dec. 7.
