Georgia, Tbilisi, Jan.11 / Trend N. Kirtskhalia /

Judicial proceedings involving the Israeli businessmen Roni Fuchs and Zeev Frankel will resume at the Tbilisi City Court on Tuesday. Hearing on the criminal case of the Israeli citizens was postponed at the request of their lawyers, the Tbilisi City Court told Trend.

A preliminary hearing has already been held and the court began the consideration of the criminal case on its merits. The next public process is scheduled for Jan. 11.

Israeli businessmen Roni Fuchs and Zeev Frankel were arrested in one of the elite restaurants in Batumi last October during a meeting with the Deputy Finance Minister Avtandil Haraidze.

According to the investigation, Israeli businessmen offered Haraidze a bribe of $7 million, in exchange for refusing an attempt to protest the decision of international arbitration. The Tbilisi City Court sentenced Fuchs and Frankel to two months preliminary imprison on Oct. 16.

Meanwhile, the Israeli side accused the Georgian authorities of falsifying the case.
