After the demonstrations in Bahrain, the authorities of some Arab countries began to talk about Iran's influence in this country. But Arab and Iranian experts think that Iran has no relation to the events taking place in Bahrain.

"Iran does not take any part in the events taking place in Bahrain," Hassan Hanizadeh, expert on Iranian-Arab relations said over phone from Tehran.
The demonstration continue for several days in Bahrain. Demonstrators call for free elections and speedy resolving of one of the main problems of Bahrain - unemployment.

Roughly 3 people died during demonstrations. About 100 protesters were injured.

After the power changed in Tunisia and Egypt, protests started in many countries of North Africa and the Middle East.

Hanizadeh said that the main cause of demonstrations in Bahrain is the oppression of the Shiite population of the country by the government.

"The population of Bahrain calls for political and social rights," he said.

Oraib Rantawi, Director of the Jordanian Center for Political Studies Al-Quds, said that it is wrong to think that Iran has influence in Bahrain because the majority of the population is Shiite Muslims.

"People call for the constitution and civil rights. But Iran has no relation to the events in Bahrain," al-Rantawi said over phone from Amman.

He said that some countries, previously standing against Iran and accusing it of interfering in the internal affairs of Egypt and other Arab countries, accuse Iran of interfering in Bahrain's affairs.
"Some countries want to aggravate the relations of Arab countries and Iran, accusing Iran of interfering in the internal affairs of Arab countries", he said.

Al-Rantawi also thinks that Bahrain's authorities understand the seriousness of the situation in the country.

"It is expected that the king of Bahrain will take decisive actions to meet the demands of the people and adopt the constitution," he stressed.
