U.S. First Deputy Secretary of State James B. Steinberg will hold a meeting in Tbilisi during his visit to the South Caucasus on Thursday.
As the U.S. Embassy in Georgia told Trend, Assistant Secretary for Europe and Eurasian Affairs Phillip Gordon will be joining him on his visit.
Representatives of the State Department will meet with Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili and other senior government officials.
The sides will discuss bilateral cooperation and regional security. A roundtable will be held with representatives of civil society.
After the South Caucasus, the delegation will visit Bosnia and Albania.
