Mexico's Foreign Minister Patricia Espinosa said at a meeting with Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov that Mexico is interested in developing economic ties with Azerbaijan, in particular in the energy sector. However, Espinosa also expressed interest in training Mexican youth in the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy.
The talks are said to be held during the official visit of Azerbaijani Foreign Minister to Mexico.
Azerbaijan opened its first embassy in Latin America, in Mexico,Mammadyarov said. This demonstrates the interest of the country in cooperating with Mexico. He added that both countries can cooperate actively in the field of telecommunications.
Mammadyarov gave a speech at a scientific conference organised in the Diplomatic Academy of Mexico's Foreign Ministry where he informed the participants about the recent achievements of Azerbaijan in the political, economic and energy spheres. He also talked about the reality of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh and the country's position in resolving the conflict.
