Azerbaijan , Baku, April 6 /Trend, T.Hajiyev/
PACE President Movlud Cavusoglu's visit to Azerbaijan started
The purpose of the visit is to attend the World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue, which will be held in Baku, Cavusoglu told reporters at the airport.
"I thank and congratulate the Azerbaijani government and state for the timely conduct of this important forum. One of my duties as PACE President is to strengthen intercultural and inter-religious dialogue in Europe. I believe that intensifying dialogue is the most important way to combat growing racism and religious hatred in our time," said Cavusoglu.
He reminded that in the last week of January, it was decided to restore the PACE ad hoc committee on Karabakh. "In fact, it was the application of the PACE resolution adopted in 2005. We fulfill our commitments. Time and place of the meeting of the ad hoc committee will be determined by the members of the committee," said Cavusoglu.
He said this is the decision of the Assembly and it must first be obeyed and supported by the members of PACE. "PACE's position regarding the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is clear: in 2005 a resolution was adopted regarding the occupation of Azerbaijani lands," said Cavusoglu.
He said the OSCE Minsk Group deals with this issue, but this problem has various aspects. "These aspects are related to human rights and the establishment of mutual trust. Our goal is to help solve these problems," said Cavusoglu.
Touching upon the opening of the airport in Khankendi, Cavusoglu said that this issue is still not on the agenda.
"Perhaps this issue will be included in the agenda of the meeting of the organization to be held in Strasbourg," said Cavusoglu.
