President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today inspected the reconstruction work in the Alat-Astara-Iran frontier highway, the President's official website reported.
Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov informed the Head of State about the technical and economic indicators of the highway.
The construction of the highway started in March, 2009.
The four-lane facility is 205 km in length and 27.5 meters in width.
The highway has two road junctions.
President Ilham Aliyev gave relevant instructions and recommendations.
Ilham Aliyev has also familiarized himself with the construction work in Sarchuvar village of the Masalli-Astara part of the Alat-Astara-Iran frontier highway.

Transport minister Ziya Mammadov informed the Head of State the facility was 22 km in length and 27.5 in width.
Six bridges, four road junctions and 133 water junctions will be built on the highway.
Here, President Ilham Aliyev viewed photo stands of a new bridge to be built on the Kura River.
The President was informed that the length of the bridge would be 370 meters, while the width 30 meters.
The Head of State praised the work done here and gave certain recommendations and instructions.
