The Ecosport group of the Azerbaijani Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry and Extreme and Air Sports Federation climbed to Heydar Zirvesi peak on Mount Bashdag to celebrate the 88th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev, spokesman Irada Ibrahimova told Trend.
The climbing campaign began on May 7 in Baku and continued at the foot of Gizil Gaya.
The expedition members managed to climb to the top, which is located at an altitude of 3,751 meters above sea level.
They laid flowers at a bas-relief to the great leader.
Climbing to the peak has become an annual tradition.
The number of people wishing to participate in the climb increases from year to year.
