The Azerbaijani Embassy in Hungary has organized a Day of Azerbaijan in the Gyor city in connection with the 88th birthday of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the embassy told Trend.
The Gyor City Central Library hosted an exhibition "Azerbaijan - Land of Fire". The exhibition demonstrated the work of Azerbaijani artists, photographs, books and booklets about the historical past and the present stage of Azerbaijan's development, as well as reflecting the multifaceted life and activities of national leader Heydar Aliyev.
Azerbaijan's ambassador Vilayat Guliyev and Deputy Mayor Balas Robert Shimon opened the two-week exhibition. Guliyev informed about Aliyev's great role in the modern history of Azerbaijan, strengthening of the political and economic independence in developing and implementing a successful oil strategy, and his merits in the active integration of Azerbaijan into European community.
A short film about Azerbaijan was displayed at the event.
Day of Azerbaijan was continued with activities organized in the Gyor municipality and the Chamber of Commerce Region Gyor-Sopron-Mason. The event was widely covered by local television stations and the press.
