The President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has signed an order on organizing the World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue in Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani President's official website reported.
The order says that the World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue was held in Azerbaijan on April 7-9, 2011, attended by the representatives of 102 states and over 10 international organizations. The main goal of the Forum was to consider certain aspects of intercultural dialogue in modern societies characterized by diversity and pluralism, and to encourage it at local, regional and global levels.
Under the order, starting from 2011, the World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue will be held in Azerbaijan every two years.
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan was defined as a coordinating agency in organizing the Forum.
The Cabinet of Ministers was instructed to submit to the President the proposals on the organization of the World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue in Azerbaijan within two months, as well as resolve other issues arising from this order.
