The Association of Farmers and the Uzbek Federation Council of Trade Unions will establish special joint working groups of public control to prevent forced child labor in agricultural operations.

The Labor and Social Welfare Ministry will control the process, a joint statement of the Federation Council of Trade Unions, Association of Farmers and Labour and Social Security Ministry said.

The authors of the statement base on the Uzbek legislation, protecting children's rights and including the law "Guarantees of child rights".
They underline the commitment and responsibility for the country's ongoing socio-economic policy aimed at ensuring social welfare.

According to the Uzbek legislation, involving 15-year-old children to labor, including agricultural operations, is allowed only for the purpose of labor education, on a voluntary basis with parental consent and within the approved training programs, the statement said.
