Georgia, Tbilisi, June 8 / Trend, N. Kirtskhalia /

The Georgian National Center for Disease Control requests that the public comply with sanitary procedures when using raw vegetables, as this precaution could ward off the possibility of an intestinal virus.

The center's statement was caused by a previously recorded incident of a fatal intestinal infection in Georgia.

However, the Center Director Natia Avaliani claims that there is little evidence of an epidemic and that the World Health Organization has not provided any specific guidance on dealing with the incidents.
