German Ambassador Ortwin Hennig called upon the Georgian Interior Ministry for a fair and transparent consideration of the case of the photographers detained in Georgia. The demand was voiced during a meeting between Hennig and Georgian Deputy Interior Minister Ekaterine Zguladze, the German Embassy in Georgia said.
The meeting was held on July 11.
The embassy stressed that the ambassador was interested in this issue, as one of the detainees Zurab Kurtsikidze works in European photo agency, with headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany.
The ambassador held a meeting at the Georgian Interior Ministry to obtain information.
German journalists are also interested in this case.
