CIS observation mission in Kazakhstan

"The CIS observation mission began monitoring the elections of the Kazakh parliament," according to a message released early today.
The CIS mission has started observing the elections scheduled for Aug. 19.
There are 68 people in the mission, including representatives from Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Armenia and the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States and the CIS Executive Committee.
CIS Executive Committee Chairman and Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev heads the mission.
The Kazakh CEC must create the necessary conditions for the mission's work at the proper level.
