Azerbaijan, Baku, Sept. 5 / Trend M.Aliyev /
Central Election Commission (CEC) Chairman Mazahir Panahov stated that Azerbaijan will apply achievements of the modern science and technology in the upcoming elections.
"The application of any innovation in the election process should be treated in terms of using modern technology," he said.
Panahov said achievements of the modern science and technology are applied in the country during the election period upon the president's recommendation.
No restrictions were put before observers at the elections held in Azerbaijan, he said. All conditions were created for the media during the electoral period, and they enjoy the same rights as observers, he added.
"It is encouraging that, we have received no complaints from the media related to the coverage of the electoral process and voting at the last elections,' he said.
Azerbaijan will hold elections for vacant seats in the municipalities in late 2011.
