Azerbaijan, Baku, Jan.25 /Trend E.Mekhtiyev/

Chairman of Azerbaijan National Independence Party regretted that Azerbaijan opposition can not achieve unity.

"Five or six major opposition parties in Azerbaijan can not achieve unity, on the contrary, there is a polarization of positions. The opposition may state one position, has a single document and a single platform," chairman of the Party Yusif Bagirzade said to Trend.

Bagirzade noted that the party, which he headed since April 2011, wants to achieve a broader representation of the opposition.

"We respect the new alliances, blocs. But leading opposition parties can come to a unanimous decision for certain purposes. They can continue their activities in these unions, blocs, and at the same time may unite for specific purposes, for conducting common dialogue and state one position," Bagirzade said.

Bagirzade noted that he is in talks with various parties on this issue

'We did not think to destroy any alliance or bloc; there are five or six major opposition parties in Azerbaijan, each of which is included in a block. The reason of dissociation of the parties is that they are in different blocs, but Azerbaijani society wants to see the unity of opposition parties" Bagirzade said.
