Georgia and Latvia will deepen the economic relations

Georgia, Tbilisi, Feb.13 /Trend N.Kirtzkhalia/

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Grigol Vashadze met with the Chairman of the Parliament of Latvia Solvita Aboltina.

Vashadze said after the meeting that the sides discussed the possibility of deepening the bilateral relations. Vashadze noted that the guests asked about the country's current political and economic situation.

Vashadze said that the Georgian side hopes that the economic relations with Latvia will continue to deepen, since none of the parties are satisfied with their current level.

The delegation also inquired about the goals of Georgia, particularly of the Foreign Ministry in 2012. The conversation also touched the aspiration of Georgia to NATO and the EU, the Russian strategic maneuvers in the Caspian region, which, according to Vashadze, threaten not only Georgia but also throughout the region.

The guests noted that they had received a huge impression on the visit to Georgia and said that Georgia belongs to a small group of countries that have managed to get out of financial crisis. They emphasized the success of Georgia in terms of integration into EU and NATO.
