The Supervisory Board has approved the nominations of 3,444 people and their names were sent to the electoral organization in Iran, Board of Control head Abbasali Kedhudai said on Tuesday, İRNA reported.
Seventy percent of the registered candidates were approved, Kedhudai said.
"There are candidates from each wing, group and political party. There will be intense competition between candidates in the parliamentary election," Kedhudai said.
Kedhudai urged candidates not to hold illegal campaigns and warned them that if such cases are revealed, these candidates may be banned from running.
Earlier, media reported that the nomination of 33 MPs has not been confirmed and their names have not been included in the electoral list.
Some 5,395 people have been nominated for the elections.
