The Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili has attended the presentation of the new military machine "Lasika" today, created by Georgian specialists. The tactical and technical capabilities of the new military machine were demonstrated at a military base in Vaziani, near Tbilisi.
The Georgian President personally took part in the trial of a new military machine.
"Lasika" is a heavy military machine, which is very mobile and powerful," he said. "It should be stressed that few countries produce military machines of this quality. We have seriously worked in this area for last two years and were able to solve this problem."
President Saakashvili said that in the future, Georgia will develop this area of military construction.
Defence Minister Bacho Akhalaia and representatives of the Joint Military Staff of Georgian Armed Forces attended the ceremony of testing a new military machine.
According to the Georgian Defence Ministry, "Lasika" military machine is equipped with a module of remote control. It is armed with 23mm cannon, 7.62mm machine gun.
