Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has today received a delegation of members of the Pakistani Senate, headed by deputy chairman of the Pakistani Senate Mir Jan Jamali, the Ministry told Trend today.
The sides expressed satisfaction with the level of relations between the two countries and stressed the existence of mutual support in many areas. The importance of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries within international organizations, including the UN Security Council was emphasized.
Mammadyarov said that Azerbaijan is interested in further expansion of ties with Pakistan. He stressed the importance of further developing the relations between the two countries in trade, energy and culture.
Foreign Minister stressed the importance of parliamentary diplomacy. He added that the intensification of mutual visits is an important factor of developing the political dialogue between the two countries.
The gratitude was expressed to Pakistani senators for their strong support for Azerbaijan's position in the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
