The unilateral abolition of visa regime with Russia is a sign of strength, rather than weakness, Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili said at a meeting with the students on Tuesday.

He said that despite dozens of terrorist attacks were planned to be held in the territory of Georgia, these threats were neutralized by Georgian law enforcement agencies and effective counter-intelligence service. The president said that the government is not afraid to abolish the visa regime thanks to the good work of the agency and the effectiveness of the police.

"We expect more tourists from Russia," he said. "Visa-free communication will benefit our economy."

He said that the country's leadership is turn Georgia into the center of tourism in the region.
