Azerbaijan, Baku, April 24 / Trend E. Mehdiyev /
Chairman of the Azerbaijani Democratic Party Sardar Jalaloglu said that the positions of the opposition parties, recently united in the "five-sided" format, still sharply differ.
"It became clear at our last meeting that we have taken different approaches to political processes in the country, the unity of the opposition and other issues," Jalaloglu told Trend today.
While talking about the prospects of the new association, he added that it is early to speak about this.
"It is hard to say how the cooperation will develop," he stressed. "But if we had not hoped for the prospects, we would not proceed with the idea. Time will show."
Regarding the convergence of the members' positions in the "five-sided" format, Jalaloglu does not exclude this. "That's why we continue implementing this format," he said.
Chairman of the Azerbaijani Democratic Party Sardar Jalaloglu, head of "Musavat" party Isa Gambar, chairman of the Azerbaijan Popular Front Party Ali Kerimli, chairman of the Classic Popular Front Mirmahmud Miralioglu and chairman of the Azerbaijani National Independence Party Yusif Bagirzade attended the "five-sided" meeting.
The parties agreed to hold these meetings at least twice a month.
