Azerbaijan is located at the intersection of West and East, North and South and therefore, the country can play the role of an inter-civilizational and interfaith bridge within the Alliance of Civilisations, Turkish Haberler news agency quotes Azerbaijani parliament's speaker Ogtay Asadov as saying.
"Azerbaijan supports Turkey in its efforts to promote interreligious and intercultural dialogue," Asadov said addressing at the UN forum 'Alliance of Civilisations'which opened yesterday in Istanbul.
The forum is attended by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, leaders of 65 countries, representatives of international organisations, government and business circles.
