The EU will allocate 22 million euros to Georgia, European commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Stefan Fule said in Batumi during a speech at an international conference "European Way of Georgia - EU and its European neighbors."
"I am very pleased to announce that the EU decided to allocate additional financial assistance to Georgia under the program of European integration and cooperation. In 2012, 22 million euros will be allocated. In this way, we want to strengthen our support in the legal system so that it would develop in accordance with the EU recommendations," Fule said.
He said it is very important for the EU to reform the legal system of Georgia.
"In the final report we noted the importance of reforming the legal system in Georgia. Eastern European Partnership is a very ambitious project, but at the same time it is flexible and should be adapted to meet your specific needs," Fule said.
