Azerbaijan`s President Ilham Aliyev has today received President of TeliaSonera Lars Nyberg.
Lars Nyberg praised dynamic development of the information and communications technology sector in Azerbaijan.
He thanked the Head of State for ensuring favorable conditions for the application of the 3G and 4G mobile technologies of Azercell in Azerbaijan.
President Ilham Aliyev noted the ICT sector was among key priorities for Azerbaijan.
The Azerbaijani leader said work continued to ensure internet access in all regions of the country.
During the meeting, they stressed the importance of TeliaSonera`s support of the Azerbaijan-initiated Trans-Eurasian Information Super Highway (TASIM) project, which was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly.
They underlined the importance of the Internet Governance Forum to be held in Baku jointly by Azerbaijan and UN.
