Brazil intends to expand cooperation with Azerbaijan in the near future - Ambassador

Diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Brazil created in 1993 are much stronger for the last period, said Brazilian Ambassador in Azerbaijan Sergio Arruda at a reception in honor of the 190th anniversary of the independence of Brazil.

"Opening in May of last year the Azerbaijani Embassy in Brazil is an indication that in the near future bilateral relations and cooperation will be strengthened. Brazil and Azerbaijan both characterized by multinationality, multiculturalism and tolerant society," - he said. According to him, the two countries are also the economic leaders of their regions.

The diplomat noted that in the five months of its activity in Azerbaijan, he witnessed the increasing level of cooperation between government and business. Arruda expressed confidence that these relations will continue to develop.

Addressing the meeting, the Minister of Agriculture of Azerbaijan Ismet Abbasov congratulated the people of Brazil on behalf of the government of Azerbaijan and wished further prosperity.

According to him, there are tremendous opportunities for the development of cooperation in various spheres of the economy and, in particular in the agrarian sector. The Minister expressed confidence that the relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries will continue to develop.
