Parliament and the government of Israel is interested in developing cooperation with Azerbaijan and see Azerbaijan as its strategic partner in the South Caucasus, member of the Israeli Parliament (Knesset) Alex Miller said on Wednesday at a meeting with Azerbaijani journalists.

According to him, there are many good opportunities for cooperation between the two countries and simplification of the visa regime between the two countries, as well as the establishment of direct contacts between business people could make an important contribution in this regard.

Azerbaijan has vast experience in the oil and gas industry and this experience could be useful to Israel, said the deputy.

At present any problems for the development of relations between the two countries does not exist. There are more than 50,000 Jewish from Azerbaijan in Israel, who are also willing to contribute to this cause.

Azerbaijani community plays an important role in the rapprochement of the two countries, Miller said.

"I think both countries have a desire and the government takes the same position and it will be done," Miller said.
