Around 200 representatives from 35 countries are participating in the seventh General Assembly of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) in Baku today.
The assembly has been organised at the highest level, as Azerbaijan has gained sufficient experience in this field and has enough opportunities. The ruling New Azerbaijan party is among 21 parties at the conference.
According to the ICAPP charter, meetings of the organisation's Standing Committee are held between assemblies in different countries.
A decision was made to hold seventh General Assembly of the organisation in Baku on Nov. 22-23 at the 17th meeting of the ICAPP Standing Committee, held to prepare for the General Assembly in Baku in June 2012.
Discussions on 'Security, peace and cooperation in Asia' will be held at this current conference.
