Chairman of the Bulgarian Parliament Tsetska Tsacheva, who is on a visit in Baku, met with the members of parliamentary Azerbaijan-Bulgaria friendship group on Tuesday

During the meeting Tsacheva stressed that the two countries are actively cooperating both in the political and in parliamentary sphere.

"However, the level of these relations does not satisfy us. There are opportunities for the wider development of relations for our people to get to know each other closer. Development of relations between the business circles will contribute to the rapprochement of our peoples," the speaker said.

Speaking about economic relations, Tsacheva said that Azerbaijan is a country with energy resources.

"Bulgaria needs Azerbaijani oil and gas to meet its demand in energy. We can cooperate very well in this field. This issue was extensively discussed during the visit of Bulgarian Prime Minister to Azerbaijan. As a parliament, we can contribute to creation of legal framework for the development of economic relations, " Tsacheva said.

The head of the friendship group Siyavush Novruzov said that relations between the two countries are developing dynamically.

"Inter-parliamentary ties also contribute to bilateral cooperation. These relations will continue in the future," Novruzov said.

He also expressed gratitude for the support of the Bulgarian side to the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan in the Nagorno-Karabakh issue.
