Azerbaijan, Baku, 12 March / Trend, M. Aliyev /

The Azerbaijan Democratic Party (ADP) sees the establishment of the 'El' movement not as an intensification of the opposition, but as an indicator of its passivity and appearance of new contradictions, ADP Chairman Sardar Jalaloglu said, commenting on the establishment of the "El" movement.

"One of the main ideas of the 'El' movement is uniting the opposition. If they want to unite all the forces, why would they create a new movement? Apparently, the desire to act as an independent party lies behind this action," Jalaloglu said.

The main reason of lack of unity among the opposition forces of Azerbaijan is inability of its members to put aside their personal ambitions, Jalaloglu said.

"The 'El' movement will act independently. So far they have had certain disagreements and have not been able to come to an agreement. They will continue having disagreements after this as well," the ADP Chairman said.

The more independent parties there are, the more problems they will face, Jalaloglu said.

"Appearance of a new structure with new claims will inevitably lead to emergence of new problems," Jalaloglu said.
