Azerbaijani ambassador to Belgium and Luxembourg Fuad Iskandarov has delivered credentials on his appointment to Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg, the embassy said today.
The ambassador conveyed the Grand Duke greetings from Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev during his meeting.
While informing the Grand Duke about Azerbaijan, Iskandarov noted the Azerbaijani side's interest in the development of relations with Luxembourg in all fields.
The diplomat also spoke about the history of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the current situation in negotiations on the conflict settlement.
Grand Duke Henri stressed Azerbaijan's important role in the region and appreciated the country's election to the Security Council and Baku's support in electing Luxembourg as a non-permanent member of the organisation.
Azerbaijan makes an important contribution to the solution of global issues, he said.
While congratulating the Azerbaijani ambassador, Grand Duke Henri wished him success in his activity and promised the Luxembourg government's necessary support for cooperation.
