Speaker of the Parliament of Turkey Cemil Cicek expressed his attitude to Israel's apology on "Freedom Flotilla" case, Anadolu agency reports.
The speaker estimated this step of Israel as an extremely important factor, noting that Turkey "welcomes it".
Turkey has always wanted peace and reconciliation in the region and around the world, said Cicek.
"However, the area where Turkey and Israel situated is the most confusing area in the world. Still blood is shed, tears are shed - still there's a lot of pain. And in the first place Turkey sees these losses. If there is no threat to our law and our rights, we will have no problem with any country", noted the speaker.
"Understanding and solving the problem is very important with regard to the restoration of peace in the region. We've had no problems with the people of Israel, and now there is no problem also. Simply, while one country is conducting the wrong policy, Turkey has to defend its rights", said Cicek.
Turkey is the first country which recognized the state of Israel, thus from now on it is important to stand on the path of improving the relations between two countries, declared Cicek.
