Some new positions have been established in Azerbaijan's overseas diplomatic corps. Certain amendments were introduced to the law 'On Diplomatic Service' at a meeting of the Milli Majlis (Parliament).
The draft law provides for the establishment of the position of Deputy Ambassador in diplomatic missions of Azerbaijan. The status of the Deputy Ambassador will correspond to the one of the General Consul. The service life of the new posts of the Deputy Ambassador, Deputy Permanent Representative and General Consul will last four years, the chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Relations and Inter-parliamentary Relations Samad Seyidov said.
The draft law was passed after voting.
